After two years of diligent work, it is with great joy and excitement that the Search Committee as well as the Consistory of Swiss United Church of Christ present Kimberly Moeller as the candidate for consideration for the Senior Pastor for our church.

Rev. Kimberly Moeller

Rev. Kimberly Moeller entered the ministry after a career in Silicon Valley where she was an accomplished leader of nonprofit, association, and entrepreneurial organizations and initiatives. For eleven years, she served as the first Executive Director of the famed Churchill Club, bringing together influential technology entrepreneurs, national business executives, and international governmental leaders. Previously, Kim served as Director of International Programs for SRI International, producing conferences and events in Europe, Asia, and the US. After moving to Virginia, she worked for the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness and at Wesley Housing, a nonprofit organization building and managing affordable housing.

Pastor Kim’s call to the ministry was as strong as it was unexpected. Her Christian experience began in a small town UCC church singing the words “Jesus Loves Me,” listening to Sunday School stories on flannelgraphs, and memorizing lines for the Christmas Eve pageant. After graduating from Ohio State, she moved to California. She was actively involved in the small groups ministry of her church before being hired there in 2008 as its Director of Small Groups.

She began seminary studies in California at Fuller Theological Seminary and completed her Masters of Divinity degree at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. Kim served a one-year internship at Bethel UCC and more recently provided pulpit supply and leadership at the church where she is a member during their interim minister’s part-time employment.

In her free time, Kim loves anything with a good story — movies, theater, books, television, and country music. She enjoys travel especially where there is water or new experiences. She also likes watching football and playing tennis (although she says her serve needs serious work), swimming, and hiking.  Kim is single with no children but she loves being Aunt Kim — ask her about her trips with her godchildren rafting in the Grand Canyon and flying simulators at Aviation Challenge where they were the Top Guns!

Pastor Kim brings extensive knowledge and experience to her ministry. She also brings an eagerness and desire to serve the people of Swiss Church and Green County. She embraces shared ministry, preaching, pastoral care, social justice, and being the hands and feet of Jesus in service to the greater community. She feels God’s call to support people of all ages to more fully live and act in Christ’s love.
